Celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month celebrated annually in May, pays tribute to the achievements of generations of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders who have shaped United States history and enriched our culture. Celebrate AAPI heritage and culture this month and all year by supporting these AAPI-owned Arlington businesses enhancing the vibrancy and diversity of our local economy and community.

Mother's Day Brunch at Skydome Restaurant | May 14

Netherlands Carillon Freedom Concert | May 10

Join the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands for the second annual Freedom Concert at the Netherlands Carillon in Arlington. Experience the beautiful melodies of the unique 127-foot-tall, 53-bell musical monument, listen to an inspiring speech on freedom, and be captivated by a mesmerizing ballet performance.

Clay Jewelry and Candle Pouring Workshop at Assembly | May 6

Learn a new skill and enjoy a creative session at Assembly! Khadeejah Honesty, founder of Soultry will give a workshop on how to make clay earrings and Bianca Turner, founder of Beez Wax Co will show how to make hand-poured soy candles.

Workshop: Love Letter to a Color | May 7

Join MoCA Arlington resident artist Rebecca Rivas Rogers for a dynamic art workshop where participants will be asked to pick their favorite color and find it in nature during an hour-long excursion in the neighborhood then record their observations in an acrylic painting.

Yoga in the Galleries  | Saturdays

Make your way to the Museum of Contemporary Art, Arlington for a unique 60-minute yoga session in their serene Tiffany Gallery. Take in the colors of the stained glass as you relax into yoga poses and enjoy a creative doodling and writing session following the class.

Makers Market | May 7

Explore this fun market featuring 20 local creators and artists for an afternoon of outdoor shopping on the plaza. Enjoy trendy and unique creations, and ambient music from the live DJ, and take in all the plaza has to offer.
