While Arlington is a bustling location by day for seeing historical sites, shopping and outdoor dining, an entirely new Arlington comes alive at night, offering everything from live music and dance to theatrical performances and more.
Whether seeking a nightlife scene of fancy cocktails and good friends, an evening at the theater, or laid-back fun with trivia or comedy, Arlington is the place to be.
Looking to catch hot local and touring bands or superstars of tomorrow? Galaxy Hut – with 20 constantly rotating craft beers on tap plus a vegetarian-friendly menu – offers live music most Sunday and Monday nights. Just down the road, the Clarendon Ballroom, winner of various Arlington “Best of” awards, is a great place for a good dance party. The night club is one of the largest and most recognized in the area with an 80 foot bar and 3,000 square feet of dance space. What’s more, the Ballroom's Rooftop Pavilion is a wonderful space for eating, drinking and socializing while enjoying the Clarendon skyline and the wonderful Virginia weather. Not far away in the Crystal City neighborhood, it's always a beach party at the LGBTQ and straight-friendly Freddie’s Beach Bar & Restaurant.
Wine bars also take center stage throughout Arlington, with plenty of places for visitors and friends to sip and swirl their way through the evening. Try Northside Social Coffee & Wine Bar, Screwtop Wine Bar, Grand Cru Wine Bar & Bistro or Cheesetique for all kinds of different vintages to try.
For the lively musical atmosphere of an Irish pub, Samuel Beckett’s in Shirlington features live music several nights each week. Guests can enjoy a pint or two at the bar while enjoying traditional Irish tunes or a variety of local acoustic acts and sampling authentic cuisine. Meanwhile, Ireland’s Four Courts in Courthouse offers live music every Wednesday through Saturday, with additional nights of trivia, karaoke and more for those looking for a fun evening out. And that’s just the beginning of the opportunities for a casual night out on the town with the guys/girls. Try Rustico or Crafthouse in Ballston; Heavy Seas Alehouse or Continental Modern Pool Lounge in Rosslyn; Mister Days in Clarendon; Arlington Rooftop Bar & Grill in Courthouse; or Highline RxR or the Crystal City Sports Pub in Crystal City.
All of these options represent just a sampling of the many places to enjoy Arlington after dark. Spend an evening or two of your visit finding a new favorite!
