National Cherry Blossom Festival

Experience four weeks of celebration filled with food, fun, and culture!

This year's National Cherry Blossom Festival blooms from March 20 through April 17, 2022. The 2022 Festival is the 110th anniversary of the gift of trees from the Mayor of Tokyo to Washington, D.C. The Signature Events you know and love are back in person, along with a wide variety of ways to experience the capital region as you can only see it once a year.

The greatest springtime celebration in the United States takes place as a sea of pink blossoms emerges around the Tidal Basin and the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, a truly unforgettable sight. The annual event honors the close bond between the United States and Japan, which gifted the cherry blossom trees in 1912.

Start planning your visit to the region! You can stay in Arlington just minutes from Cherry Blossom Festival activities while enjoying hotel rates that average 20 percent less than those in downtown Washington, D.C.
