Reagan Airport is only five miles to the U.S. Capitol building, and landing at the airport gives spectacular vistas of the National Mall from the Lincoln Memorial to the U.S. Capitol, the Jefferson Memorial and even the White House.

Arriving passengers who get a window seat on the plane’s left side along the southbound glide path say that view never gets old! And at the airport, they might even see members of Congress traveling to and from their home districts.

Getting to and from the Airport is Simple

One of the easiest ways to get to and from Reagan Airport is on the region’s Metrorail system. The airport has its own stop on the Blue and Yellow lines, connecting you to 10 more Arlington Metro stations and the Orange, Silver, Green and Red lines spanning Washington and the region.

An official taxi stand outside of baggage claim can take you to any of Arlington’s 45 hotels, and a ride into downtown D.C. costs about $15 to $20. Airport shuttles to many hotels are also available. Rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft are options.

Staying at one of the 15 hotels in Crystal City? The airport is so close, you can even try the roughly 20-minute walk if you’re traveling light. In the coming years, as Arlington welcomes a major new Amazon headquarters, a planned pedestrian bridge will make the walk from Reagan Airport to the heart of Crystal City even quicker and easier.
