Get to know Roxana with this quick Q&A covering her background, insights on Arlington and more.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your background in travel and tourism sales.
RR: I have over 15 years of experience in travel and tourism sales. In my previous role, I served as the Director of Sales at the Newseum where I led the group sales team and implemented an annual strategic plan which drove over 33% of total annual attendance and revenue in the group and FIT visitation segments. Over the years, I have attended major national and international conventions where I developed strong relationships with tour and receptive operators as well as local hospitality industry influencers. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Communications from American University and outside of work, I enjoy traveling and trying new restaurants.
What is your favorite thing about working in the hospitality industry?
RR: What I enjoy the most about working in the hospitality industry is meeting people from all over the United States and the world, learning about other destinations and helping clients have a memorable experience when they visit Arlington, VA.

What do you think makes Arlington a unique destination for meetings and groups?
RR: Meeting attendees and groups who stay in Arlington can find a unique blend of national history, high-tech and eco-friendly meeting spaces, restaurants, beautiful views and activities for all types of groups at a great value.
In addition, what makes Arlington a unique destination for all visitors is the sense of pride you feel when visiting a beautiful city that is surrounded by some of the most powerful memorials in the United States that honor the country's heroes.
What are some of your favorite experiences in Arlington -- personally and from a client perspective?
RR: At various times over the years, I have lived and worked in Arlington and some of my favorite experiences include:
- Hiking the trails at Theodore Roosevelt Island which is located on the Potomac River.
- Enjoying a picnic at Gravelly Point Park and just watch planes take off and land from Reagan National Airport.
- Visiting the Arlington National Cemetery and witnessing the Changing of the Guard ceremony, performed by the U.S. Honor Guard.
From a client perspective, I feel that meeting attendees and groups really enjoy the convenience and value of staying in Arlington and the opportunity to enjoy the many experiences Arlington has to offer.
