BALLSTON BID PRESENTS ARTECHOUSE STUDIO XR-ACTIVATED MURAL
Overview
The Ballston Business Improvement District (BID), in partnership with ARTECHOUSE Studio, announces the debut of ChromaBloom, a XR (Extended Reality) digital mural at Ballston Quarter. On view from May 1 through June 1, the installation transforms a prominent public wall into a vibrant, interactive art experience, inviting residents, employees, and visitors to engage with the season in a new way.
ChromaBloom reimagines a 10.7’ x 13.8’ wall into an experience that blends technology with the beauty and movement of the season. The artwork is powered by the ARTECHOUSE App and extends beyond the physical surface, revealing digital layers that appear when activated through the free app.
Developed by ARTECHOUSE Studio, a leader in experiential digital art, ChromaBloom reflects a shared commitment to activating shared spaces through innovation, culture, and technology. Earlier this spring, the BID collaborated with ARTECHOUSE’s DC location for Bloom Hunt, a regional scavenger hunt with free tickets to the landmark art space and other prizes. The collaboration between the BID and ARTECHOUSE Studio highlights a shared vision of transforming Ballston into an engaging, accessible destination for art and technology, reinforcing the neighborhood’s identity as one of Arlington’s most creative and forward-thinking districts.
