Lubber Run Summer Concert Series | August 1
The Lubber Run Summer Concert Series features free performances from a variety of genres at the sylvan venue nestled two blocks off Route 50. The last concert of the summer will take place on August 1 at 8:00 p.m. and will feature bluegrass band, Big Howdy. More information here.

Netherlands Carillon Concert Series | August 3, 17, and 31
Enjoy sweeping views of Washington, D.C., while guest artists play patriotic music, jazz and pop on the Carillon's 50 bells. Meet on the lawn at the foot of the Carillon from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. on August 3, 17, and 31 and bring blankets to this family-friendly event.

Trail Tuesday with Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail | Tuesdays in August
Join the Friends of Mount Vernon Trail (FoMVT) to improve the Mount Vernon Trail Tuesdays at 5:00 p.m. in Rosslyn! Volunteers will remove vegetation, pick up trash, and remove ivy from the fence near the entrance of the trail.
Columbia Pike Movie Nights | August 1, 2, 8, 15, 22
On Fridays at Arlington Mill and Saturdays at Penrose Square at sunset (8:30 p.m.), enjoy FREE outdoor movie nights. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs/blankets and leashed pets are welcome, but alcohol is NOT permitted.
Met Park Movie Nights | August 8, 22
Join the National Landing BID this summer for Met Park Movie Nights! This outdoor series will run every other Friday until September 19th at Metropolitan Park. Family-friendly movies will start promptly at 6:00 p.m. More information here.

Dark Star Park Day | August 1
Don't miss the Rosslyn favorite tradition that only comes around once a year! August 1 at approximately 9:32 a.m., Nancy Holt’s Dark Star Park (1979-84) will perform a special effect. THE INVISIBLE SKATE THEORY: An Exhibition on Belonging, Visibility & Skateboarding Culture | Through August 16
The Invisible Skate Theory traces the often-unseen networks that connect women, nonbinary, and queer skaters across geography, identity, and digital space. Centered in the DMV (DC-Maryland-Virginia) skateboarding community, the exhibition at Mason Exhibitions in Virginia Square, explores how connection, culture-building, and resistance take shape in a scene long dominated by cis-male voices — and how those pushed to the margins have built new maps by necessity.
Threads and Expressions: A Fiber and Textile Journey at Alliance Gallery | Through August 17
This vibrant exhibition from the Arlington Artists Alliance showcases handwoven works by artists with disabilities, celebrating their creativity, skill, and artistic voices.
