New District Brewing Company Recreates Historic Beer for Arlington's 100th

An Arlington brewery is celebrating the destination's 100th anniversary in a special way.

Arlington brewery New District Brewing Company in Shirlington is toasting the community’s 100th birthday in a special way. The brewery is unveiling a special brew this month in honor of the anniversary of Arlington’s official naming. The “Arlington 100” lager is a recreation of an historical lager beer produced by Arlington Brewing Company from 1902-1916. At the time, that company was located in Rosslyn and known as one of the largest DC area breweries of the day.

The “Arlington 100” recipe has been carefully recreated adhering to the production practices and ingredient bill with care taken to revive the beer in its true form today. New District brewmasters worked with a local beer historian who researched and pulled documentation that helped the team recreate the recipe while offering guidance for brewing practices at the time.

Customers can enjoy the small batch Arlington 100 lager in the New District tap room beginning March 14 while supplies last.

Cheers to Arlington’s 100th!
