It’s no secret that the hospitality industry has been devastated by the COVID-19 pandemic, and Arlington’s hospitality partners are no exception. However, several Arlington hotels are joining a nationwide effort to show a little heart during this crisis.
The Doubletree Crystal City, Crowne Plaza Washington National Airport and the Holiday Inn National Airport have all joined the nationwide “Hearts on Hotels” effort to spread a message of hope to the community. By turning off all guestroom lights with the exception of those that together show a giant heart on the side of the hotel, these two properties are helping to spread the message that the hospitality industry will return.
“We put the lights on in solidarity with our local communities and our fellow team members in the service industry, no matter what company or service they are in,” said Ed Virtue, VP and Regional Director for hotel owner BF Saul Hospitality Group. “It’s effort to provide some light during difficult times.”
The hotels are still open and welcome anyone in need of lodging during this challenging time.
