Columbia Pike Library and the Black Heritage Museum of Arlington (BHMA) have partnered on a self-guided visit for all ages. Come and learn about Arlington’s fascinating local Black and African American history and show your library interest!

How the activity works:

Step 1: Visit the Black Heritage Museum of Arlington (BHMA) during its open hours. Please note that the BHMA is open Thursdays from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. and Saturdays 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The BHMA is located at 2611 Columbia Pike Arlington, VA 22204 and admission is free.

Step 2: Explore the museum and exhibits. Take a selfie or picture of yourself with a historic person who is featured on the walls of the BHMA, including many Arlington residents.

Step 3: Visit the Columbia Pike Library (816 South Walter Reed Drive Arlington, Virginia 22204), bringing your library card or digital library card. If you don’t have a library card, you can sign up for a free Arlington Public Library Card at Columbia Pike Library (or any Arlington Public Library branch) with your photo ID and proof of address. Prizes may only be picked up at Columbia Pike Library.

Step 4: Show your selfie from BHMA and your library card at Columbia Pike Library to earn a prize! All steps must be completed to earn the prize. Prizes are not available until January 20.
