Holiday cheer is in the air! From dazzling light displays to local holiday markets and exciting performances, there's no shortage of things to do this holiday season in Arlington.

Ballston

Sip, Sing & Celebrate Holiday Wreath Market
Dec. 17, 4-7 p.m. | Dec. 18, 12-7 p.m.

'Tis the season for holiday decor! Stop by this festive event to purchase a holiday wreath, perfect for getting in the holiday spirit. The Crossing Clarendon Holiday Market
Dec. 4 |10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The Crossing Clarendon and Made in Arlington are giving shoppers the opportunity to support local makers and artisans this holiday season. Holiday Sing Along at Northside Social 
Dec. 10 | 6-9 p.m.

Warm up your vocals for a fun and musical event. Join Northside Social for a holiday sing-along featuring Vanessa Ralls & The Berries, an ugly sweater contest, and a variety of local artists and vendors offering unique holiday gifts.

Christmas Tree Lot
Dec. 4 | 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Holiday Sip & Skate
Dec. 8 | 5-7 p.m.

Stop by Pentagon Row's outdoor skating rink for a fun and festive event. Enjoy ice skating, live performances by the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington, and hot chocolate from Toastworthy. RSVP here.

Balaclavas and Baklava: Walk, Ride, and Craft
Dec. 9, 6-7:30 p.m. | Dec. 11, 1-2 p.m.

Join BikeArlington for their annual Balaclavas and Baklava winter event, where they get ready for cold-weather activities by making fleece ear warmers, neck gaiters, and balaclavas. Learn how to create these warm winter accessories during the virtual craft night and put them to use at their festive winter bike ride, complete with delicious baklava from Athena Pallas Restaurant

Peppermint Mocha Latte Competition 
Dec. 12 | 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Delight in tasty holiday lattes with a side of friendly competition at National Landing's inaugural Peppermint Mocha Latte Competition. Local coffee shops Commonwealth JoeThe Freshman and Origin Coffee Lab & Kitchen will offer sample servings of their festive holiday drinks and guests will then be able to vote on their favorite. Dec. 17, 5-10 p.m. | Dec. 18, 12-5 p.m.

Hosted by National Landing in partnership with DCBB Productions, Made in Arlington and Bun’d Up, this two-day market will feature unique curation of vendors, including food, art, jewelry, vintage clothing, and collectibles, will set up shop. Plus live entertainment and festivities are sure to make spirits bright. 

Rosslyn

Holiday Clothing Drive
Now through Dec. 17 

Pay it forward this holiday season by participating in Rosslyn's annual holiday clothing drive. Stop by the Rosslyn BID building and donate your adult-sized, gently used winter coats, sweaters, sweatshirts, hats and gloves. Look for the gift-wrapped boxes to drop off your donations!

Holiday Chocolate Countdown
Dec. 1- 31

Count down the days until the holidays! Make your way to Central Place Plaza and watch as Rosslyn BID ambassadors reveal a new clue each day leading up to the holidays. If you can guess what kind of dessert the emoji clues are hinting at before the end of each game period, you'll be entered into a raffle to win a $50 gift card from that restaurant!

Tree Lighting
Dec. 9 | 5 p.m.

Kick off the holidays in Rosslyn with music, prizes and a whole lot of festive fun! Beginning at 5 p.m. on December 9, enjoy performances by the H-B Woodlawn Secondary School choir and Mariachi Aguila DC, raffle prizes throughout the night and more!

Bring the whole family to Central Place Plaza (even your four-legged members) for a joyful holiday celebration! Enjoy two days of festive activities including family photos with Santa, pet-inspired giveaways, free hot chocolate, a special holiday performance and 12 unique vendors offering artisan crafts and more.

Handmade Holiday Workshops at Arlington Arts Center
Dec. 11 | 1-3 p.m.

Learn some new skills and gift unique handmade items this holiday season! Arlington Arts Center is offering two creative workshops, perfect for anyone looking to get crafty during the holidays. Their Buttonhole Book Making Workshop will feature an introduction to creating your very own Buttonhole Paper Book using plain and decorative papers, some waxed thread, and a sewing needle.

Attend their Luminary Making Workshop to learn the basics of paper cutting while creating a decorative candle holder for the holidays or any time. Papercut artist Melanie Kehoss will provide instruction on whimsical paper cutting and adhesive techniques.

What Sweeter Music by Arlington Chorale
