BRAC Transition Center - Assistance

Workforce Assistance

Arlington’s workforce is one of its greatest strengths; Arlington’s goal is to ensure that those who want to work here are able to do so. This not only is a benefit to the individual, but to the Arlington community as a whole. Accordingly, the role of Arlington's BRAC Workforce Transition Team is to support and promote business and employment opportunities in Arlington.

By working closely with business partners and other stakeholders in the workforce arena, the team is dedicated to ensuring a smooth transition for affected workers, businesses and the community at large. BRAC-affected parties can expect to receive valuable resources and services to help them make informed choices when it comes to their employment needs and quality of work-life.

Currently, Arlington’s BRAC Workforce Transition Team is hard at work in planning and developing services, tools and resources for BRAC-affected individuals who may need assistance with the following:

  • Job Search
  • Career Planning
  • Job Transition
  • Job Matching and Placement
  • Training and Education
  • Telework Alternatives
  • Work Life Program Options (e.g. alternate work schedules, flexible schedules, compressed schedules)
  • Start-up/Small Business and Entrepreneurship Options
  • Labor Market Data

Please check this site often and stay tuned for more information and details as they become available.

Business Assistance

While certain DoD agencies will be faced with location changes, other surrounding businesses may also be impacted by the changes brought on by BRAC, especially those located in Crystal City. Arlington’s BRAC Small Business Transition Team will work with all businesses in Crystal City, delivering information and assistance to help manage the transition process.

In coordination with Arlington’s BizLaunch program and its Small Business Network (SBCC), the BRAC Small Business Transition Team will oversee the development and implementation of business support programs that assist businesses in maximizing their advantages leading to growth and sustainability.

The Transition Center Team serves as the primary point-of-contact for BRAC affected businesses and will provide business services such as:

  • Recruitment Assistance
  • Training and Education Workshops
  • Start-up/Small Business and Entrepreneurship Options
  • One-on-One Counseling
  • Information and Research
  • Match-up and Networking Opportunities
  • Resource Referrals
