Tax Assessment

Just the Facts

  • Formerly the site for Safeway, the new site, recently approved by the board includes an 188-unit rental apartment building. Approximately 34,340 square feet of retail and 14,650 square feet of office space will be included on the ground floor and mezzanine.

  • There will be 408 parking spaces on 3 below-ground levels; at least 107 of which are non-reserved shared for visitors and shoppers. The project also includes 79 bicycle parking racks.

  • The building will be 6 stories tall.

  • Developer for the project is the Woodfield Investments Chevy Chase, MD.

  • The project is in compliance with the Form Based Code and consistant with the goals of the Columbia Pike Initiative. No modifications were requested.

  • The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) score for the building will be at least 16.

Construction Notes

  • Hours will be 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. weekdays; weekends and holidays will be from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • The east side of Adams Street south of the entrance to Giant will be closed during construction.
  • The sidewalk along Columbia Pike will be covered. The sidewalk on the east side of Wayne will remain open.
