AP reporter Matt Barakat covered the redevelopment of Crystal City on March 7, 2007. '60s Crystal City looks for a shining future was picked up by the Washington Times, the D.C. Examiner and covered by WJLA Channel 7, Channel 8 and Fox 5.

Crystal City Planning Task Force

The Arlington County Board appointed a Crystal City Planning Task Force to help create a vision for the future development of Crystal City. The Taks Force efforts were completed with the December 2008 County Board adoption of the Policy Framework and Illustrative Concept Plan for the Crystal City Vision Plan.

Long Range Planning Committee

The Long Range Planning Committee (LRPC) of the Planning Commission will be leading the initial review to provide feedback to staff on the draft Crystal City Vision Plan. For these discussions, the LRPC will be joined by a number of former Task Force members and representatives of other advisory commissions to ensure a broad range of community feedback. Once the draft plan is refined through these discussions, the draft plan will be presented to interested advisory commission prior to Planning Commission and County Board hearings.

UPDATE: Feedback from the Long Range Planning Commission meetings is now being incorporated as staff works on developing a revised draft Crystal City Sector Plan. Once completed, the revised draft plan will be made available on this website for public review. Details on the upcoming meeting schedule will be listed below and updated accordingly with any changes.
