Scientists were among the first to use the Internet to communicate, collaborate and contribute to a common body of knowledge. Scientists are also among the most active professionals using "Web 2.0" tools -- blogs, podcasts, online communities, Wikis, and social networking sites -- to share experiences, opinions and advice. This Cafe Scientifique will explore the opportunities and challenges of communicating science in an increasingly wired world. Three experts will discuss their experiences with Web 2.0 and social media and its implications for the scientific community, policy makers and the general public.
